Open House is the front door. The Drawing Room is the smaller table. A handful of seats, a long dinner, and the conversations that don't happen when the room is big.
Eight to ten people, one table, and a night with no panel, no programming, and no name tags. We eat, we drink, and we talk about what is actually happening in our businesses right now: the deal that went sideways, the hire we regret, the number we finally raised, the thing we would never do again.
Everyone pays their own way. That is the point. Nobody at this table is selling you anything, and nobody owes anybody a favor at the end of the night.
Open House is where you meet the room. The Drawing Room is where you get to know it.
The night of our ADAC panel, because we will already have been talking all day and we would rather keep going. Eight to ten seats. Everyone pays their own way, roughly $250 a head. The venue goes out with the invitation.
